To be honest, I was a little afraid to make this cake. Still, “Anthill” should be completely familiar, with a taste recognizable from the first spoon – something that has remained in your memory since childhood. I remember shortbread dough and the bright taste of boiled condensed milk. But so that it’s not a sickly sweet cake, but one that you can’t put down – you want more and more. And it’s better that you can carefully pinch off pieces with your fingers and put them in your mouth)

I am 100% satisfied with the result of this recipe. And the dough is just right, and the cream is not cloying, but sweet and very rich, and cooking couldn’t be easier.

You need (for 1 “Ant Hill”): dough: 200 g sour cream (20%) 200 g butter 100 g sugar 400-500 g flour 2 teaspoons baking powder

cream: 1 can of boiled condensed milk (380 g) 200 g butter

Cooking time: 1 hour (+1 hour for hardening).

Preheat the oven to 180C in advance.

For the dough, first mix sour cream, softened butter, sugar in a large bowl, and then, adding flour and baking powder, knead the shortbread dough.

I immediately write “short pastry” because this is a good designation of the desired density of the dough. It should gather well into a dense, uniform lump. Add flour gradually - first 400 g - mix. If the dough is runny, add another 50 g of flour, and then, if necessary, another 50 g.

Now - the most interesting part. In the classic version, the dough is rolled through a meat grinder and small cakes/lumps are placed on a greased baking sheet. If you don’t have a meat grinder, just pinch off small balls of dough and place them on a baking sheet (grease it with butter or line it with baking paper).

Bake for 10-15 minutes at 180C until the cookies are a nice brown color.

While you bake the cookies, prepare the cream. To do this, mix softened butter and boiled condensed milk into a homogeneous mass. There are no complicated techniques here - just mix them in a bowl and put them in the refrigerator for a while.

The finished and cooled cookies need to be crumbled a little with your hands. Here it’s up to your taste. Some people like smaller crumbs, others like large lumps.

Place the crumbled cookies into a bowl with the prepared cream and mix well.

Place the entire mixture in a heap onto the prepared dish and place in the refrigerator for 1 hour to allow the cake to set.

If you want, you can decorate the cake with melted chocolate, chopped nuts and grated chocolate.

In my opinion, this cake is beautiful even without unnecessary decorations.

For those who want to enjoy an anthill as quickly as possible, it is best to take toffee and corn sticks. To combine the dough, all you have to do is add a little butter. You will need a large pack of 150 grams of sticks, and about 400 grams of toffee.

  5. Grate the chocolate bar on a fine grater and sprinkle evenly over the cake, and additionally decorate the structure with poppy seeds on top. You can decorate the cake with almost anything, but for maximum similarity with the name, a little chocolate and poppy seeds will be enough.
  6. Place the cake in the refrigerator to soak thoroughly. This will take at least several hours, or better yet, the whole night. Serve the finished cake whole, and cut into pieces in the presence of guests.
