The last layer is grated eggs. To make the salad more original, you can separate the yolks and whites, rub the yolks in the center and the whites around the edge.

For this pp fur coat you will need the following ingredients:

  • 1 large beet.
  • 1 medium carrot
  • 1 small celery root. Boil all the vegetables, peel and grate.
  • 1 herring fillet. Cut into small pieces.
  • 1 small onion. Let's chop.

For proper mayonnaise, prepare the following ingredients:

  • 250 grams of yogurt. We use only natural yogurt without various additives. Greek yogurt or even Activia will work just fine.
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice.
  • Salt to your taste.

Mix all the ingredients for mayonnaise in a blender and obtain a thick, homogeneous mass.

Let's start making layers:

Now you need to put the dish in the refrigerator for a couple of hours to let it brew.

The famous doctor, who at one time decided to help a friend and came up with a diet for him that helped him remove extra centimeters from his waist, soon became famous throughout the world.

The principle of the diet is very easy and simple: remove foods such as flour, sugar, sweet fruits, fatty dairy products from your daily routine, and replace them with bran, protein foods and vegetables (selectively).

You can even enjoy this salad, so famous to all of us, by replacing some of the ingredients with permitted ones. Having prepared herring under a vegetable “coat,” you will be surprised how tender, juicy and appetizing the salad turns out. You can replace the salted herring in the recipe with any canned fish (without adding vegetable oil), and instead of yogurt, use soft low-fat cottage cheese.

Ingredients for cooking:

  • one herring);
  • beets and carrots 300 grams each;
  • four eggs;
  • 150 milliliters 0% yoghurt;
  • salt, ½ teaspoon mustard;
  • one onion.

Prepare the vegetables: boil, peel the skins using a sharp knife. Peel the eggs and chop them. Chop the onion into small segments. Grind the vegetables using a grater. Start preparing the salad sauce “Sales under a fur coat”: add mustard and chopped yogurt (2 pieces) to low-fat yogurt, stir the mixture thoroughly.

Chop the herring fillet into small segments. Start assembling the Dukan salad “Herring under a fur coat”, not forgetting to soak each layer with yogurt sauce. Alternate layers: beets, eggs, carrots, herring and onions. And in reverse order: egg, carrots and beets. Cover the top layer of the salad with yogurt and hide the “coat” in a cold place for 2-3 hours so that the mass is saturated with the sauce.

How to make a herring roll under a fur coat?

An original form for serving herring under a fur coat on the table. And, by the way, very comfortable. I cut it into pieces like a regular roll and put it on plates. In order to make it, we will need cling film in which we will wrap our salad.

We will need:

  • herring - 1 pc.;;
  • potatoes - 3 pcs.;
  • beets - 2 pcs.;
  • carrots - 2 pcs.;
  • eggs - 4 pcs.;
  • onions (optional);
  • mayonnaise.

Preparation:

1. Boil vegetables and eggs, peel and grate on a coarse grater. We put everything on different plates to make it easier to assemble the salad.

2. Clean the fish and cut into small cubes.

3. Roll out the cling film on the table. Spread the beets in a thin layer on the film.

Important! The beets need to be squeezed out of the juice a little, otherwise the roll will not hold its shape.

4. Make a mesh of mayonnaise on top.

5. Lay out the next layer of carrots, lightly pressing them with your hands. If the carrots are juicy, then you also first need to squeeze the juice out of them. Make this layer a little shorter than the beet layer.

6. Coat with mayonnaise again and salt to taste.

7. Then make a layer of potatoes. Also leaving a couple of centimeters to the end of the previous layer. Apply mayonnaise mesh.

8. Next we have the eggs, we also press them down a little, add some salt and grease them with sauce.

If you add onions, mix them with the fish.

10. Next, using cling film, roll up the roll and give it the correct shape. And in this form we put it in the refrigerator for several hours.

Herring under a fur coat without mayonnaise and potatoes

This option is suitable for people who care about proper nutrition. It is prepared as follows:

  • beets (1 piece) and carrots (1 piece) should be filled with hot water, salted and cooked until tender. After this, cool and remove the skin, which easily comes off after cooking. Grate vegetables into different plates on a coarse grater;
  • Peel the skin from the herring (1 piece), then fillet it, carefully selecting all the bones. Now it can be chopped into small cubes;
  • boil 2 - 3 eggs in salted water, cool and grate;
  • to prepare the sauce (replacing mayonnaise), you need to mix low-calorie yogurt (300 g) or cottage cheese with mustard (10 g) until a homogeneous mass is formed;
  • assemble the dish for presentation in this order: carrots, herring, beets, egg. Carefully coat each layer with the prepared sauce.

New recipe for herring under a fur coat

A more delicate and relatively lighter version of the salad, which even children know, I’m sure. We will also prepare the appetizer in layers, but we will replace the potatoes with processed cheese. Unusual, but that’s what attracted me to this snack, I hope you like it too.

Ingredients:

  • Salted herring – 1 piece
  • Processed cheese – 100 g
  • Boiled beets - 1-2 pcs.
  • Boiled chicken eggs - 3 pcs
  • Boiled carrots - 2 pcs.
  • Mayonnaise - to taste
  • Salt - to taste
  • Ground black pepper - to taste
  • Greens - to taste

Cooking sequence:

For the sake of beauty, I decided to use a serving ring so that all the layers could be seen, and the salad would also be portioned. You can prepare the snack in the usual way.

1. Cut off the herring’s fins, head, entrails and all bones. Cut the fillet parts into pieces and place them on the bottom of the mold.

2. Grate the carrots, place on top of the herring pieces, pepper and lightly salt. Spread mayonnaise on top.

3. Choose processed cheese without additives and preferably with a neutral smell and taste. Grind it on a grater, place it on top of the carrots, and apply mayonnaise.

If you prepare salad in portions using a ring, then each layer must be pressed down thoroughly.

4. Next is a layer of coarsely grated beets, a grid of mayonnaise.

5. Grated chicken eggs on top - this is the final stage of preparing the salad. Press down the layer well and remove the serving ring.

6. All that remains is to decorate the appetizer, use fresh herbs. You can make flowers from boiled proteins, which are then placed in the middle of the salad.

  17. Place pieces of herring in the center. Under a fur coat, the recipe is completely atypical, but that makes it more appetizing. Use foil to form a roll. If you ignore the foil, the pita bread may tear.
  18. Wrap the edges with foil and place in the refrigerator to soak for 3 or more hours.

Classic salad recipe “Herring under a fur coat”

My grandmother also prepared this recipe and the whole family devoured her salad on both cheeks. By the way, the appetizer was the very first to fly off the table. I advise you to cook it and try it, it’s definitely worth it. Cooking herring under a fur coat is simple and quick.

Ingredients:

  • Salted herring – 300 g
  • Beetroot - 1 piece
  • Carrots - 1 pc.
  • Potatoes - 4 pcs.
  • Onions - 1 pc.
  • Mayonnaise - 150 g
  • Greens - to taste

Cooking sequence:

1. Wash the vegetables thoroughly without removing the skins, place them in a saucepan and boil until tender. Then they need to be cooled and cleaned.

2. If you have a whole herring, cut it into fillets. Cut the cleaned fish into small pieces and place on a plate in an even layer.

3. Peel the onion, chop into small cubes, place on top of the herring pieces on a dish. Top with mayonnaise.

4. Grate the boiled potatoes on a coarse grater and transfer to a dish. Lubricate everything with mayonnaise.

Homemade mayonnaise

You can replace mayonnaise in your favorite salads with your own prepared one. Its ingredients are simple: olive oil, cottage cheese, mustard and lemon juice. The process of preparing pp mayonnaise will not take even 20 minutes. But this sauce has the taste of real mayonnaise and only 130 calories per 100 grams. Homemade mayonnaise is suitable for herring under a fur coat, Olivier salad, and Caesar salad. And your family won’t even notice this replacement.

Homemade mayonnaise will replace regular mayonnaise on the Dukan diet. Because of the cottage cheese, the sauce is high in protein, which is what is needed for such a diet. This is a real salvation for those losing weight who do not want to change their diet because of the holiday.

Herring under a fur coat in layers according to the classic recipe

This is the recipe I use to always prepare herring under a fur coat for home holidays. It seems to me that this is the simplest, classic recipe that has already taken root with us so much that not a single get-together in good company is complete without it.

We will need:

  • herring - 2 pcs;
  • onions - 1 pc.;
  • potatoes - 3-4 pcs;
  • beets - 1 large;
  • mayonnaise.

Preparation:

1. Clean the herring, remove the seeds and cut into small cubes. Place on the bottom of the salad bowl. In the photo I made the salad in the shape of a ring, if you like this design option, then place a glass in the center of the dish and lay out the layers around it.

2. Then peel and finely chop the onion. And since we don’t need bitterness in the salad, we pour boiling water over it for one or two minutes. Then we put it on top of the fish.

3. Boil the potatoes in their jackets, let them cool, remove the peels and grate them on a coarse grater and make the next layer out of them, which should be coated with mayonnaise.

Apply mayonnaise in a thin layer.

4. The final stage is beets, which must first be boiled, then peeled and grated on a fine grater. Coat the salad with mayonnaise and take out the glass. You can decorate with dill, as shown in the photo.

Secret! To quickly cook beets, peel them, place them in a regular bag, and make holes in it with a fork. Place a plate under the bag and microwave at 500 W for 5 minutes.

This form of salad is convenient because it can be easily cut like a cake and placed on plates. I think this is a great recipe. And it won't take you much time. Try it!

Herring under a fur coat: dietary recipe

We suggest preparing a dietary salad “Herring under a fur coat”, this recipe without potatoes. If your list of plans was to start eating right and getting your figure into almost perfect condition, then take note of this salad option.

To begin with, we will change the composition of the ingredients, excluding potatoes from the classic recipe of the dish. This way we will have only 4 ingredients for the salad. Then we'll make a wonderful sauce from low-fat yogurt or cottage cheese mixed with mustard - a great alternative to traditional mayonnaise, but without the extra calories.

First we cook the vegetables. To do this, fill the beets and carrots with hot water, add a little salt and cook until fully cooked, and cook the beets a little longer than the carrots. Let the vegetables cool and remove the skins, which easily come off from the boiled fruits. Then we chop the beets and carrots separately on a grater. We peel the herring, then fillet it, carefully selecting the bones. After this, cut the fish into cubes.

Boil the egg for 8-10 minutes. Cool, clean and grind on a grater. Mix yogurt or cottage cheese with mustard to make a homogeneous sauce. Now we present the dish, for which we lay out all the ingredients in the order we need, making sure to coat them with sauce. First add the carrots, then the herring slices. Next we lay out the beets. Sprinkle with grated egg. Let the appetizer soak a little and serve.

Ingredients for preparing a diet salad:

  • chicken table egg - one piece;
  • carrot root (medium) – one piece;
  • beets - one piece;
  • lightly salted herring (low-fat) – 75 grams;
  • yogurt or cottage cheese (low-fat) – 100 grams;
  • table mustard - 0.5 teaspoon.

As for presentation, we lay out the salad in layers using a metal ring, coating the ingredients with sauce. For a festive serving, you can put a slice of apple or citrus on top.

Dietary herring under a fur coat without mayonnaise

This salad was invented by Anastas Bogomilov back in the 20th century. He had his own tavern, which was always full of visitors. But, unfortunately, they quickly got drunk, broke dishes, or broke furniture. Then Anastas decided to come up with a salad that would keep the guests from getting drunk for a long time.

He successfully combined well-known ingredients and came up with an original name for the dish. “Boycott and anathema to chauvinism and decadence”, abbreviated as fur coat. But this long name was quickly forgotten. Therefore, in our time it is simply called - herring under a fur coat. For those who are watching their figure, we offer a dietary version of the salad.

Wrap potatoes, carrots and beets in foil and bake them in the oven. Approximate baking time is 40 minutes. Then chop everything into cubes. Boil the eggs and grate them on a medium grater. Soak the chopped onion in water for 5-10 minutes. Then sprinkle it with sugar and season with lemon juice. Cut the fish into small cubes.

We make a special sauce. Mix together sour cream, mustard and salt. Now you can lay everything out in layers. Coat each ball with sour cream sauce: chopped fish; onion; potato; carrot; eggs; beet. Herring under a fur coat without mayonnaise is ready. Just leave it to soak before serving to your guests.

There are several theories about the origin of herring salad under a fur coat. A recipe of Norwegian origin, dating back to 1851, suggests placing the fish on a dish and covering it not only with vegetables, but also with boiled eggs. Perhaps it was this version that served as the basis for preparing a variation with grated boiled eggs. It is also considered a classic, not inferior to the previous one in relevance.

Required:

  • 1 large fatty herring;
  • 3 potato tubers;
  • 4 eggs;
  • 3 pcs. carrots;
  • 0.5 onions;
  • 2 pcs. large beets;
  • 250 ml. mayonnaise.

Herring under a fur coat with eggs

How to cook:

  1. As in the previous one, start preparing the herring salad recipe with vegetables. Wash thoroughly, place the potatoes and carrots in one pan, and the beets in another.
  2. Pour cold water over the vegetables and let them cook.
  3. After boiling, add 1 tsp into each pan. salt.
  4. Separately, boil hard-boiled eggs.
  5. Clean the fish and prepare boneless fillets. Don't forget to remove the thin skin. If you don’t know how to clean fish, use prepared fillets. Just choose large, meaty fillets.
  6. Chop the onion finely, pour boiling water and vinegar over it. Add a little salt and sugar. If you don't want to pickle the onions, just pour boiling water over them. This will help remove the bitterness from the vegetable.
  7. Peel potatoes, carrots, beets.
  8. Since the salad is called herring under a fur coat, the recipe is prepared with herring as the first layer. But many housewives prefer to line the bottom with potatoes. This sequence preserves the entire volume of herring in a portion. It is fixed by vegetables and does not remain on the dish. Since the first option is described in the recipe above, we will describe the second with a potato base.
  9. Apply a thin layer of mayonnaise to the bottom of the dish.
  10. Grate the potatoes onto it using a coarse grater, spreading them evenly over the dish.
  11. Place chopped onion on top (pre-thrown onto a strainer).
  12. Cut the herring fillets into cubes and place on the potatoes.
  13. Spread the layer liberally with mayonnaise to create a juicy herring under a fur coat. Continue the recipe by preparing boiled eggs. Don't forget to rinse the eggs under running water after cleaning. This will eliminate the possibility of small particles of peel getting into the salad.
  14. Grate the eggs in the next layer.
  15. Grate the carrots onto the eggs, spread evenly, brush thickly with mayonnaise.
  16. The last layer is traditionally beetroot. It also needs to be lubricated with mayonnaise.
  17. After cooking, use a napkin to clean the edges of the dish.
  18. Place the salad bowl with its contents in the refrigerator so that the herring under the fur coat is thoroughly soaked. The recipe is complete, serve after 3-8 hours.
